Scratchy Bottom returned to the winner’s circle with an impressive effort in the Group 3 Epona Stakes (1900m) last time out and currently figures as sole occupant of the top line in 2015 Chairman’s Handicap betting markets at a quote of $4.20 with leading online bookie Ladbrokes.com.au.

Securing three wins and two minor place finishes over 12 career starts, Scratchy Bottom was unable to make much of an impact over three spring start nor her first start this time, but was particularly convincing when beating a talented field to the line last start.

Allocated the ideal barrier 4, Scratchy Bottom will carry just 53kgs this weekend and has been confirmed to be partnered by Craig Williams.

Disclaimer opened at long $9 odds to win the 2015 Chairman’s Handicap but has received huge support from punters; cutting in to a current quote of $4.40 to register as outright second-favourite.

Posting five wins and as many minor place finishes through his 23 career starts, Disclaimer failed to beat a single runner home in the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) first-up this time, and while again unable to make an impact in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m), has since finished seventh in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes (2000m) and fifth in the Group 3 Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m).

Sure to relish a step-up to 2600m, the Dansili gelding will leave from the ideal barrier 2 with Sam Clipperton aboard this weekend.

Grand Marshal has received a steady flow of wagers to win the 2015 Chairman’s Handicap and currently occupies the third line of betting as a result at a quote of $4.60.

A standout over the 2014 Spring Carnival in finishing outside the first three only once in six starts, the Dansili gelding placed fourth in the Group 3 NE Manion Cup (2400m) last time out and is sure to be boosted by the addition of leading Hong Kong-based jockey Joao Moreira this weekend.
